Youth Community Rowing
The ultimate summer experience for teens
— ROWING ON THE WESTPORT RIVER —
“Each stroke in the boat chips away at the belief that ‘I can’t.’ Until it’s gone.”
Youth Rowing Program
For years, Dharma Voyage has introduced young people to the transformative experience of rowing on the Westport River. This three-week program, offered in partnership with the Westport Recreation Department, continues that tradition with renewed energy and focus.
Open to students entering grades 6 through 11, the program teaches rowing technique, navigation, water safety, and teamwork — all under the guidance of skilled and passionate volunteers. Participants build strength, confidence, and a deep connection to the river. Many even race competitively during the program.
No experience necessary — just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to pull together.
